El AIUC ha tomado conciencia de esta oportunidad, abri\u00e9ndose al desarrollo de instrumentaci\u00f3n astron\u00f3mica satelital y tecnolog\u00edas afines. Las aplicaciones espaciales se extienden desde la observaci\u00f3n en bandas dif\u00edciles de observar desde la tierra, hasta monitoreo de la atm\u00f3sfera terrestre y generaci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales de referencia para calibraci\u00f3n de telescopios.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pionero en este sentido, el proyecto del Hovercal, liderado por el profesor Rolando D\u00fcnner, actualmente consistente en un sistema de calibraci\u00f3n del \u00e1ngulo de polarizaci\u00f3n para telescopios milim\u00e9tricos, se ha puesto la meta de desarrollar un calibrador artificial que pueda operar desde un sat\u00e9lite en \u00f3rbita, extendiendo considerablemente su campo de aplicaci\u00f3n para telescopios de mayor tama\u00f1o y pudiendo ser visto desde todo el mundo.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;|||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; custom_padding__hover=&#8221;|||&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.23.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; text_font=&#8221;Roboto Slab||||||||&#8221; text_font_size=&#8221;15px&#8221; text_line_height=&#8221;1.8em&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;|||&#8221; custom_padding_tablet=&#8221;|40px||40px||true&#8221; custom_padding_last_edited=&#8221;off|desktop&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El centro ha acogido iniciativas de emprendimiento de alumnos UC interesados en desarrollar sus propias aplicaciones. Un ejemplo es <a href=\"https:\/\/www.octaaerospace.com\/\">Octa Aerospace<\/a>, una empresa liderada por la estudiante Matilde Gaete, de la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda UC, que se ha enfocado en el desarrollo de micro sat\u00e9lites con fines educativos y de monitoreo atmosf\u00e9rico.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">De este modo el Centro AIUC se ha convertido en un polo de atracci\u00f3n para proyectos aeroespaciales, desarrollando un ambiente de apoyo para proyectos cient\u00edficos y de transferencia tecnol\u00f3gica.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; Hovercal produce una se\u00f1al de calibraci\u00f3n que permite caracterizar la respuesta de telescopios destinados a medir el Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB).
